# Stadium Opening-Day Knowledge Checklist
Opening day depends on more than completed construction. The owner and operator need verified knowledge across life safety, security, technology, concessions, building systems, event operations and maintenance.
Use this checklist during design, construction, commissioning and activation. Assign every incomplete item to a responsible party and due date.
Governance and access
- ☐ The owner controls access, roles and permissions for the project record.
- ☐ Current approved documents are available through one governed source.
- ☐ Every critical record has a visible date, status and responsible party.
- ☐ Superseded information is retained but clearly distinguished from current information.
- ☐ Stadium operations and facilities teams have access before turnover.
Life safety and public protection
- ☐ Fire alarm, suppression, emergency power and egress records are complete.
- ☐ Testing, inspection, deficiency and resolution records are connected.
- ☐ Emergency response plans reflect the constructed facility.
- ☐ Authority-having-jurisdiction approvals are retrievable.
- ☐ Crowd-flow, accessibility and public-safety documentation is current.
Security, communications and technology
- ☐ Access-control and surveillance asset records are verified.
- ☐ Security-sensitive information is protected by owner-defined permissions.
- ☐ Network, radio, public-address and emergency-communications records are complete.
- ☐ System integrations and test results are documented.
- ☐ Vendors, warranties and escalation contacts are current.
Building and event operations
- ☐ HVAC, electrical, plumbing and controls systems are commissioned.
- ☐ Lighting, scoreboards, broadcast, sound and replay systems have accepted test records.
- ☐ Food service, concessions and point-of-sale systems have turnover documentation.
- ☐ Elevators, escalators and vertical-transportation records are complete.
- ☐ Field-of-play and event-conversion systems have operating procedures.
Training, warranty and maintenance
- ☐ Operators have received required training, materials and recordings.
- ☐ Preventive-maintenance requirements are tied to the appropriate asset.
- ☐ Warranty start dates, coverage and claim procedures are confirmed.
- ☐ Spare parts, attic stock and keys are inventoried and accepted.
- ☐ Every room or major asset can be connected to its verified operating knowledge.
Opening-day test
Choose five questions an operator may face during a live event. Can the correct person retrieve the verified answer and supporting record quickly, without calling the construction team?
- ☐ Yes—consistently
- ☐ Sometimes—manual searching is still required
- ☐ No—the answer depends on a person, inbox or contractor system
